The Medieval period occurred during what is known as the Dark Ages. This was followed by the age of artistic revolution and the enlightenment known as the Renaissance period.

MEDIEVAL CATS

During the Dark Ages, cats were also seen as symbols of witchcraft and Paganism by the Catholic Church, which did little to improve their popularity with the masses.
